Painting has been and continues to be McIntosh's primary form of expression, however the artist has also sucessfully worked in other mediums. McIntosh self-published a series of 50 unique, signed and numbered, hardbound artist's books that appear in the collections of MIT Professor Noam Chomsky, Jazz Musician John Scofield, and the Massachusetts College of Art Library.

McIntosh has created and recorded conceptual sound pieces and has produced several large-scale performance and installation art pieces. McIntosh's interactive art website entropypress.com received an unprecedented 2,000 users a week in 1996 and helped to codify the Internet as an artistic medium.

While teaching art to elementary, high school, college freshmen and adult continuing education students throughout New England, McIntosh established two non-profit art groups within the city of Boston and served on the Boston Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs Advisory Board.

In 1997 McIntosh was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and moved to Norwich, Connecticut.  At that time was named a Norwich Mayoral Cultural Advisor, the Site Coordinator of the Norwich Urban Artists Initiative, and an elected member of the Norwich Arts Council.

In 2005 McIntosh welcomed newborn twins to the family and relocated to Rhode Island. Currently the artist is painting and teaching lively "marketing for artists" and "business plans for artists" seminars, which are based upon personal experiences as a D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) artist and Marketing Communications Specialist for a major US defense contractor.
